Automatically dismiss notifications once they have been accessed

Currently notifications of messages don’t disappear even if you have read the message. We need to make sure that the number of unread notifications is reduced when a notification is accessed. For example, if I have a notification for a missed call and I access my call history, that notification should vanish. It should become dismissed automatically. Another example is if I have a notification for a new chat (let's say John sent me a message) and I have a 1 under the chat and I have a 1 in the notifications, if I actually manually go into chat and I access John's conversation and I read the message, it should automatically mark the notification as dismissed.
